President’s Message

Dear APPNA Family:

First of all, I congratulate Dr. Shahid Yaqoob for completing his 2-year tenure successfully as APPNA-AZ President 2020-2021. I am honoured to serve as the APPNA-AZ president for 2022 and hope to continue getting full support from the community during this arduous road of the Pandemic. As we all know, Physicians and healthcare workers have been on the front lines of this COVID-19 Pandemic’s serious complications for over 2 years now.

Now We appear to be heading into a fourth COVID-19 surge, with rising cases across our communities and hospitals. Unlike previous surges, we finally have free, widely available, highly effective, and safe vaccines to protect you and your family. More than 370 million doses have been administered in the United States with excellent safety.

There is much to be achieved as we unfold the mystery of the COVID-19 Pandemic. I look forward to working with you through the remainder of this year with the help and support of the Executive Committee of 2022. (Dr. Zubair Quraishi as General Secretary and Dr. Navaid A Khan as Treasurer)

Let’s hope 2022 will be a better year for all of us. Let’s have hand-in-hand together to continue fighting against this Pandemic phase.

We need to ensure that APPNA-AZ is an organization that will continue to deliver Public Awareness under scientific techniques and will do its best to fulfill the needs of our community in all endeavours.

We will continue to help young medical graduates from our motherland and local graduates here who are committed to playing individual roles for the betterment of our American nation.

Last but most important, I am thankful to my wife, Asma, and daughter, Zoya, for allowing me to serve on this vital task.

Dear APPNA AZ Chapter members: Assalam-o-Alaikom,

We will continue to do our constitutional and work hard to make sure that APPNA ARIZONA CHAPTER keeps moving forward and that election process is maintained. As per Arizona Chapter By-Laws, we will be conducting Re-elections for the executive committee posts.

Chapter members are requested to Re- elect a new APPNA AZ CHAPTER – Executive Committee for year 2024.

Members are requested to nominate for following positions for elections:
President
Secretary
Treasurer

AT LEAST TWO NOMINATIONS ARE REQUIRED FOR EACH POSITION.

Please note following rules that should be followed for elections to be valid:

  1. A candidate must receive two nominations from active/paid AZ-Chapter member.

  2. Only paid/active members can nominate a candidate. Candidates to be eligible FOR VOTE has to be a paid member.

  3. Nominations should be sent by Email to Dr. Taqi Azam,

  4. Annual Chapter Membership Fee is $25, and Lifetime Membership Fee is $250. No membership form is required. Please include your full name, telephone, and Email address with your check. Please write checks payable to “APPNA AZ Chapter”.

  8. If more than ONE nomination is proposed for the office positions, committee will proceed to conduct election.

  9. Electronic Ballet will be sent on April 26, 2023. Voting will close on April 30 at 11:59 PM. Members will be given instructions about the Independent Election company for casting votes. Results will be announced on May, 1st, 08:00 PM.
